Some moments don’t just mark a year, they redefine it.
The Women in Power 2025 event, hosted by PRISA in partnership with NCPD at the stunning Silverstar Hotel by Tsogo Sun, was exactly that for me. Not just another diary date, but one of my proudest professional and personal highlights of 2025.
As the PR Manager of the National Council of and for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) and the founder of Fability, I walked into this event carrying two passions close to my heart: inclusive leadership and women rising together, authentically, boldly, and unapologetically.
And wow… did this day deliver.

She Leads, We Rise
Under the powerful theme “She Leads, We Rise: Honour and Resilience, Dignity and Authentic Voices,” Women in Power 2025 was not just an event, it was a movement.
Women from across industries gathered to celebrate leadership that is human, courageous, and deeply rooted in purpose. What made it even more special for me was seeing inclusion not as a side conversation, but as the centre of the programme, exactly where it belongs.
When women with disabilities are included in leadership spaces, we don’t just add diversity, we expand what leadership looks like.
Voices That Lift Us All
The Women in Power stage was extraordinary.
We heard from women who don’t just speak about leadership, they live it:
- Shanaaz Nel, Pan-African media powerhouse
- Dr Caroline Azionya, academic and youth advocate
- Mapalo Makhu, financial empowerment leader
- Luthando Kekana, inclusion and social impact champion
Their stories reminded us that leadership doesn’t come from perfection; it comes from persistence.
And MC, Ado Bakasa, brought such warmth, grace, and energy to the day. She made every moment feel connected, celebratory, and alive.
Inclusion at the Centre
NCPD’s role in this partnership meant the world to me.
As Lebo Boya, NCPD Senior Manager for Projects and Programmes, beautifully shared: “Our hope is to create a space where every woman feels seen, valued, and truly celebrated.”
And that is exactly what happened.
The venue, the accessibility, the conversations, everything reflected a genuine commitment to inclusion. With support from MTN, Virgin Active, JC Le Roux, and Tsogo Sun, the experience was world-class and welcoming to all.
A Year of Dreams Unfolding
This event felt especially meaningful because it followed another career milestone for me, attending the PRISMS Summit at the Radisson Blu Hotel Sandton, and PRISMS Awards Gala at The Galleria Conference and Eventing Venue Sandton, in October, which was honestly a dream come true. To stand among South Africa’s most respected PR professionals, knowing the work I do through Fability and NCPD is making real impact, was a moment I will never forget.
From PRISMS to Women in Power, 2025 became a year of alignment, where purpose met recognition, and advocacy met opportunity.

Looking Ahead
I’m already counting down to the next chapter.
I am so excited for Women in Power 2026, happening on 13 August 2026, and I know it’s going to be even bigger, bolder, and more beautiful.
For me, these moments are more than events. They are proof that when women support women, and when inclusion is non-negotiable, magic happens.
From Fability’s mission of purpose-driven storytelling to my work at NCPD advocating for real representation, I’m grateful every day to be part of a movement that is changing the narrative.
Here’s to women who lead with heart.
Here’s to voices that rise together.
And here’s to a future where everyone belongs.
