More disabled people are beginning to follow suit, starting up their own businesses. As the continent, government and business community, we seek to affirm and give recognition to entrepreneurs with disabilities who have demonstrated excellence, innovation and triumph over adversities in their business enterprises. January 2016

The Models and Pageantry SA Magazine (MPSAmag) hosted their inaugural Miss, Mrs and Mr MPSAmag at The Venue Melrose Arch on 31 January. Caleb Swanepoel, a 20-year-old amputee model and first-time pageant entrant stole the show. Swanepoel survived a devastating shark attack in Knysna in 2015, leaving him with a prosthetic right leg. The drama student from the University of Cape Town got his first win in the 17+ male category, then scooped the overall senior male category, before walking away with the overall winner’s title – Mr MPSAmag 2016.
