Following the success of the 2015 event, the city has committed to engaging all relevant stakeholders this month for a follow-up on the progress made over the last year. This campaign focuses on shaping the future of travel, detailing actions taken to address challenges identified in the previous year. It encompasses the design of future cities, emphasizing the transformation of urban spaces to incorporate accessible public transport and promote walking and cycling.

Recognizing that an accessible, reliable, modern, and efficient public transport system is integral to fostering social and economic inclusion, Fability is fully dedicated to instigating changes and highlighting areas that require improvement.

Public transport plays a pivotal role in the livelihood of disabled individuals, facilitating travel to work, shops, doctors’ visits, and promoting independent living as much as possible.

SABC Radio 2000, along with members of the Gauteng Office of the Premier, City of Johannesburg, Gauteng Department of Transport, Gautrain, Rea Vaya, Fability, and several celebrities, embarked on a another annual ride in support of Transport Month 2016.
